Junior Team

U19 American Football Team

The East Kilbride Pirates U19 team was formed in 2013 and welcomes boys and girls aged 16-19. We play an nine-a-side contact version of the sport and compete in the Junior Conference of the British American Football Association’s National Leagues. The Pirates junior team has been Scottish Champions, Northern Champions and Britibowl u19 Championship runners-up in 2016, 2017 and 2019, and Scottish Champions and National Plate Champions in 2018 and Scottish Champions in 2021.

Training takes place on Sundays from at Hamilton Palace sports ground, and Tuesday evenings from April onwards.

Costs and equipment

We will supply all necessary playing equipment and team uniform – all you’ll need is suitable practice clothing and footwear and a gumshield. Player subs are £240 a year, payable by monthly standing order split across 12 months from Oct-Oct (£20 per month).  This covers expenses for training, tournaments, equipment and other running costs and allows us to budget across the year. In addition, players are required to be registered with the league each year for competition and insurance purposes. This currently costs £15.00.
