Pirates Gameday Team Are Recruiting – Stats Assistant

We’re always on the look-out for people to assist on gameday, to bring the best possible experience for players, staff and spectators alike. Any offer of volunteer help is very welcome, but on this occasion we’re specifically seeking people who would be interested in becoming part of the Club’s team of statisticians.

With the Club continuing to grow, each of our different teams have their own requirements when it comes to keeping stats. Some need the fully comprehensive details, others an abridged form and the rest, a basic recording of only the most important information around which a game report could be written.

You should have a general knowledge and interest in American Football, with basic arithmetical skills to boot. Full training will be given, including what & how to record the appropriate details for each format of the game. Initially, you will shadow Club Statistician, Bill Campbell before hopefully being in a position to cover a game by yourself. You should also be able to commit to regular attendance at games both at home and on the road.
