Try women’s contact American Football – Sunday 22 October

Fancy trying a new sport? The East Kilbride Pirates Women’s team are holding a contact American Football taster session Sunday 22 October from 10am- 12pm on the grass rugby pitch at Hamilton Palace Sports Ground in Hamilton, ML3 6BY.
We’re looking for new players to join the team ahead of the 2018 contact season starting in February. Our women’s team play contact football in the British American Football Association’s Sapphire Series tournaments from February to April.
No experience or equipment is needed and we’ll teach you everything you need to know. You’ll get the chance to give it a go, meet the players and coaches and have some fun. If you decide to get involved, kit can be provided on loan and monthly subs for contact football cost £20 by standing order after an inital free three-session trial period. A one-off £30 league registration fee is also payable for competition entry. Prospective players should be aged 17+
Wear warm clothes suitable for running about it, moulded plastic studded boots if you have them, and please bring a gum shield (which you can buy from Asda / Sports Direct for £2-3). please note – metal studded boots aren’t allowed. A change of clothing for afterwards is also advisable in the event of wet / muddy weather!
Changing facilities are available in the main reception building in the sports ground carpark. Once ready, follow the signs for rugby / American Football pitches (approx five mins walk – so please allow enough time to get to the pitch for 10am!).
