Bio

Matthew Hamilton is a man who loves to model for Facebook profile pictures. Seriously, check them out – it’s like a fashion shoot.

Away from the catwalk Matthew squeezes in some pass catching as Wide Receiver for the Pirates Juniors. Matthew moved to WR after playing Cornerback for the team in previous seasons. In fact Matthew says his most memorable moment playing for the club was his first tackle while playing Corner, even though it was hardly a textbook hit.

The one thing that gets Matthew through training on the concrete at Duncanrig is the atmosphere at the club. He loves how the players try and make each other better and revels in being a part of that culture.

Matthew hopes that when he retires from Facebook modelling he can take up a career in the computing industry while continuing to play with the Pirates Senior team.

What Junior Head Coach Matthew Davies says

matthew davies“Having played Youth football with the Pirates and also being involved with the TouchDown UK schools programme as a player and latterly a coach, Matthew is one of the most enthusiastic guys on the team and is always looking to grow his knowledge, both to aid his playing and to give more back to the young people he coaches.

Beginning as a Defensive Back before finding a much more natural home on the other side of the ball as a Receiver, Matthew is among the most dedicated players on the team, with an attendance level of over 90%! I hope he steps up to senior after this year, because his skills have really started to grow throughout 2016 and he has a promising career ahead, both as a player and coach.”
